Summer Outlook for US Ports

· As Asian imports into the US during April hit 6.5 million TEU an increase of 2.7 percent from this same period last year congestion is once again becoming a major concern at US ports. Peak season is quickly approaching and with a Shanghai reopening and a surge likely ahead what can be expected at US ports?

· Well data has shown that West Coast deliveries have declined while East Coast ports volume have risen in some cases substantially. This trend will likely continue as we race towards the summer months.

· Georgia Port Authority has also recently confirmed they are bracing for what they too expect will be in a congested summer ahead. As congestion once again plagues US ports this could potentially create a stagnate supply chain.
